New Orleans Pelicans fans are apparently going to have to wait at least one more game before seeing most of the regular season rotation play together.

Willie Green stated to media after this morning’s shootaround that Brandon Ingram would sit in Miami against the Heat tonight. Joining him on the sidelines are also Jonas Valanciunas, Larry Nance Jr. and Dyson Daniels.

The five Pelicans taking the floor at tip-off will be CJ McCollum, Herb Jones, Trey Murphy, Zion Williamson and Willy Hernangomez.

McCollum, who has missed several games with right ankle soreness, will be making his first appearance since the preseason opener against the Bulls.

While there’s no guarantee Ingram will take the floor against the Atlanta Hawks in two day’s time, there remains that hope, per ESPN’s Andrew Lopez. One has to believe the New Orleans organization would like to see their usual starting group not only make their first appearance together in preseason but also showcase them for fans in Birmingham, the home of the Pelicans G League team.
