As expected, Jonas Valanciunas (sprained right thumb) will miss Monday’s night’s preseason game against the Minnesota Timberwolves, per Willie Green in pregame media.
The New Orleans Pelicans will also be without Zion Williamson, who is still progressing from a broken right foot sustained during the summer. However, the head coach reiterated that the superstar’s recovery remains on track.
“He’s progressing in the manner that we expected,” Green said. “Look, you never know with a foot injury, but right now, he’s doing great. He’s doing his cardio. He’s doing his conditioning. And we expect him to be ready. If anything were to change before that, obviously, we would let you all know, but right now he’s doing great.”
As for the starting lineup, the Pelicans twitter account made the announcement: Brandon Ingram, Willy Hernangomez, Devonte’ Graham, Naji Marshall and Garrett Temple.
