Game thread: Can Herbert Jones slow down one of Harrison Barnes or De’Aaron Fox?

Josh Hart is expected to return for this Pelicans-Kings matchup

If the Pelicans are to knock off the Kings tonight, either Harrison Barnes or De’Aaron Fox will likely have to be held in check. Barnes has been setting the league ablaze this season and Fox absolutely feasted on New Orleans during the last campaign.

Willie Green has a man just for the job, fortunately, and Herbert Jones has been displaying his talents to much of the roster since before training camp.

“It’s been amazing,” Garrett Temple said in this morning’s shoot around. “I saw it in Nashville firsthand. We have the same agent so he was talking about Herb early on, right after he got drafted. I saw firsthand in Nashville the way he was able to defend and just know the game on the offensive end — just know how to play. He was SEC Player of the Year for a reason. Us SEC guys, we do the right thing.”

Temple will not play against Sacramento due to a left ankle sprain. Zion Williamson remains out as he continues to rehab from right foot surgery. However, Josh Hart, who had missed four straight game due to right quad tendinosis, is available.
