Tonight’s scheduled game between the New Orleans Pelicans and San Antonio Spurs has been postponed due to the league’s health and safety protocols.

According to Pelicans’ Twitter account, neither the Spurs nor the Pelicans can meet the minimum requirement of fielding at least eight players because of ongoing contact tracing.

This marks the second postponement for New Orleans on the season. If you may recall, a matchup in Dallas on January 11th was postponed because the Mavericks didn’t have enough available players due to ongoing contact tracing.

The NBA opted to postpone the contest “to ensure the health and safety of players, coaches and other personnel” as contact tracing continues.

Tonight’s matchup between the Pelicans and Spurs marks the 22nd postponement in the NBA this season.

Stay tuned for further updates.
