Could three dates mean three different covers?

Zion Williamson sent fans who are also avid gamers into an excited frenzy recently when he was the NBA player selected to promote the upcoming release of NBA 2K21.

While the NBA 2K franchise quickly downplayed the idea that this somehow cemented Zion as the next cover athlete for the popular video game, Anthony Davis has now breathed new life into the rumor.

According to this TikTok video, Davis indicates that he has knowledge of not only who will be featured on the cover of NBA 2K21 but when that announcement will be made. He points to three different dates (June 30th, July 1st and July 2nd), suggesting that three cover athletes may be chosen for the prestigious honor.

Did Zion Williamson’s odds just increase to make the cover?

Most likely, yes.

The popular belief is that Kobe Bryant should be one of the selections, but that still potentially leaves the door open for two more names. Many have surmised Luka Doncic is deserving of one of those spots, but as for the other, why not Zion? He’s already one of the most marketable players in the game today so it would behoove NBA 2K to take advantage of Williamson’s impressive popularity.

As Anthony Davis displays in the link above, stay tuned as more info is scheduled to be divulged later this week.
