The New Orleans Pelicans have failed to beat the Los Angeles Lakers three times on the season, but they should have their best chance yet to deviate from that outcome.
The Lakers announced moments ago that Alex Caruso (sore right hamstring) and Anthony Davis (sore right knee) will miss Sunday’s contest.
Anthony Davis (sore right knee) and Alex Caruso (sore right hamstring) are out vs. NOP, per the Lakers. Danny Green (hip) will play.

Before the start of the Lakers-Grizzlies game last night, there was a chance Davis was going to miss the action because of a sore left elbow but now a sore knee is also ailing him.
Regardless of which injury is bothering him more, Kyle Kuzma is expected to replace Davis in the lineup (Kuz has started all six games he was available in which Davis has missed) so he’ll be tasked with stopping Zion Williamson at the outset — unless Frank Vogel passes that juicy assignment to JaVale McGee and Kuzma then has fun trying to keep Derrick Favors off the glass. Either way, good luck!
As for the Pelicans, they’ll be without JJ Redick, who strained his left hamstring four minutes in against the Cleveland Cavaliers on Friday and is expected to miss at least the next two weeks following an MRI.
