Game 53: New Orleans Pelicans without Brandon Ingram, Zion Williamson is game-time decision against Indiana Pacers

The Pels are going to need some special contributions by the rest of the cast in order to leave Indy with the victory.

Not one but two of New Orleans Pelicans star forwards could be out with ankle sprains against the Indiana Pacers. Zion Williamson, who was questionable entering tonight, is a going to be a true game-time decision while Brandon Ingram, who was doubtful, has already been ruled out by head coach Alvin Gentry.

Josh Hart is expected to take the place of Ingram in the starting lineup.

Welp, it’ll be on the rest of team to carry the load, with the biggest amount of responsibility likely falling on Jrue Holiday. He has been in a bit of a funk since returning from an elbow injury though, having shot better than 50% from the field just three times in nine games since January 20th.

We should expect for Jrue to receive solid help from JJ Redick, Lonzo Ball, E’Twaun Moore and Josh Hart, but at least one of these guys needs to really pick up the scoring slack and go for a figure north of 20 points. And, of course, Derrick Favors is going to need to hold the fort down in the paint against Domantas Sabonis.

For the Pacers, they’ll be practically at full strength, with TJ Warren returning to the lineup.
