The New Orleans Pelicans and Los Angeles Lakers are meeting for a third time on the 2019-20 season tonight. However, this will be the first matchup whereby the Pels will field their preferred starting lineup, a group that has led the team to a 6-3 record in their last nine games together.
Derrick Favors and Lonzo Ball missed the teams’ first meeting back in late November, a heart-breaking 114-110 loss, but Zion Williamson was unavailable for both previous contests. Can full squadron take down Anthony Davis and LeBron James?

It’s a big ask, even for a New Orleans team that has won five of their last six games and their starting lineup has been a wrecking ball. The Lakers have won seven of their last eight, with the only defeat coming at the hands of the Houston Rockets.
Having said that, I’ll admit I have a somewhat good feeling about this one. New Orleans may not ultimately win, but I think the Pelicans are going to give the Lakers a run for their money. Against a lot of teams, that’s probably good enough to leave with a victory considering all the firepower — Jrue Holiday, Brandon Ingram, JJ Redick, yada, yada, yada, but Los Angeles is tops in the West for a reason.

Let’s geaux, Pels!
