The New Orleans Pelicans have one game remaining before joining the vast majority of the league on approximately a week-long hiatus surrounding the All-Star weekend, and a victory would taste ever so sweet. Entering the break on a four-game win streak is a nice thought, but beating a team that’s responsible for three of the Pels’ 31 losses is long overdue.
The OKC Thunder are the surprise first-half team of the Western Conference. They currently occupy the seventh slot, but their playoff ticket feels already punched, sitting eight games ahead of the ninth-place Portland Trail Blazers.
The Pelicans will likely need to seek some payback without Brandon Ingram, who was supposed to test out his right ankle in pregame, but from what I was told, didn’t even warmup. He hasn’t officially been ruled out as of this writing, but one has to assume he’s unavailable. Thus, Josh Hart will join the rest of the regular starting lineup consisting of Lonzo Ball, Jrue Holiday, Zion Williamson and Derrick Favors.
