Game 35: Brandon Ingram and Pelicans hope to upend Anthony Davis and Lakers in Los Angeles

New, comments

New Orleans nearly upset the Lakers in their last matchup. Can they close the deal tonight?

The Pelicans are facing the Lakers for a second time this season, but this matchup will be played inside Staples Arena. Los Angeles narrowly edged out the Pels 114-110 in New Orleans back on November 27th, outscoring them 35-21 in the decisive fourth quarter.

Brandon Ingram, Lonzo Ball and Josh Hart will all be making their first return appearances to Los Angeles since the Anthony Davis trade. It’ll be interesting to watch how well they handle the pressure of wanting to perform well and beat LeBron James, their former teammate who was a major reason for the locker room upheaval before the last trade deadline.

In other news, Zion Williamson remains very much in the headlines. During tonight’s NBA Countdown show on ESPN, Adrian Wojnarowski had this to say:

“They want him on the floor a few more times and then they’re going to bring him back. The knee is healthy. The meniscus is healed. The playing weight is where they expected it to be and want it to be.”

And then the Pelicans Twitter account posted the following tweet:

So, as we’ve been hearing for several days now, Zion is on track to return in the very near future!
