Although they sit 11 games under .500, New Orleans really does control its playoff destiny. The Memphis Grizzlies currently sit in 8th, 4.5 games up on the Pelicans, but the two teams will meet three more times after today. Taking the four-game season series should be at the forefront of all those minds in the locker room.
Of course, that’s easier said than done, with Ja Morant posting highlights on a nightly basis and the Grizzlies having won seven straight. To make matters worse, the Pelicans will be without Derrick Favors on MLK Day. On the flip side, Jrue Holiday is expected to return for the first time since January 4th, and JJ Redick should be a go as well.
