Game 43: New Orleans Pelicans looking to get JJ Redick back for matchup against LA Clippers

Can the Pels beat the Clips w/o Paul George again on the season?

After getting Brandon Ingram and Derrick Favors back in the nick of time to put Utah’s 10-game win streak to bed, the New Orleans Pelicans hope the return of another key player helps tip the scales in their favor against another strong contender in the Western Conference.

New Orleans will face the L.A. Clippers for a third time this season (1-1 record thus far), and although they’ll still be without Jrue Holiday — thankfully Paul George is out too, JJ Redick appears ready to return to action for the first time since New Orleans’ win against the Knicks in New York. In pregame media, Alvin Gentry wasn’t ready to commit 100% to Redick being a go — he still needs to go through warmups before a final decision is made, but he seemed confident in this outcome nonetheless.

The other reason for hope — and this one’s much less logical, L.A. has been alternating two wins for every loss since Dec. 28. They’ve won two straight so...
