Game 78: Anthony Davis out for New Orleans Pelicans vs Los Angeles Lakers matchup

There’s a good chance we won’t see Anthony Davis play again this season.

NBA: Sacramento Kings at New Orleans Pelicans Derick E. Hingle-USA TODAY Sports

With four players already listed as out (five if you count Trevon Bluiett) for the New Orleans Pelicans, Anthony Davis was listed as probable entering today. Despite the fact that there’s nothing left to play for and even LeBron James has already called it quits, warmups were supposed to determine Davis’ fate in a matchup against the Los Angeles Lakers.

Fortunately, it doesn’t appear we’re headed down that road. During pregame media, head coach Alvin Gentry immediately let us know that Davis was out versus Lakers, and furthermore, AD will not play again this season unless he feels “great.”

Draw your own conclusions, but it sounds like his season is over.

Also, please, please, be sure to read Kevin and Chris’ look at 14 potential head coaching candidates for next season. You’ll love it. I guarantee it.
