Game 75: New Orleans Pelicans begin five-game home stand with meeting against Houston Rockets

The Pels surprised the Rockets at the end of January, but this time they’ll be without Jrue Holiday.

NBA: New Orleans Pelicans at Houston Rockets Thomas B. Shea-USA TODAY Sports

The New Pelicans, losers of 7 of their last 8, are trudging ever so slowly towards the finish line defeat after defeat, while the Houston Rockets are blazing a track into the upcoming playoffs, winners of 12 of their last 14.

Honestly, things couldn’t be any more different between the two franchises.

The Rockets are led by one of the game’s biggest superstars, who is pouring his heart out each and every night for his team. James Harden is in the running for another deserved MVP award, and if you were to ask the Warriors who scares them the most, they would probably say Houston. The Pelicans, on the other hand, will likely continue to parade Anthony Davis out onto the court for the remainder of the schedule but each party is beyond ready to say goodbye to one another.

One team is living large in late March while the other solely contemplates the future, wishing for this season to finally conclude.

Sigh.
