Game 74: Anthony Davis out for personal reasons, Elfrid Payton hoping to shine again as New Orleans Pelicans battle Orlando Magic

Lets keep that triple-double streak alive!

According to the New Orleans Pelicans Twitter account, Anthony Davis will be out for tonight’s game due to a family-related reason.

Obviously, everyone hopes that all is well on Davis’ home front, but this is far from the worst news for a team that should be entirely in evaluation mode at this point. If healthy, Cheick Diallo and Jahlil Okafor need to be playing north of 20 minutes and that hasn’t been the case with also Julius Randle soaking up a lot of action in trying to prove his worth on what should be a new contract signing this summer.

All eyes, of course, will be on Elfrid Payton. Can he notch his sixth straight triple-double? One has to believe it would be kind of sweet to post a big game against your former team, who moved you for very little to the Phoenix Suns.

Let’s geaux, Pels!
