Game 57: Anthony Davis will play on second night of back-to-back against Memphis Grizzlies

The New Orleans Pelicans, who are supposedly looking to the future, are on a two-game winning streak...

NBA: Memphis Grizzlies at New Orleans Pelicans Derick E. Hingle-USA TODAY Sports

Considering Anthony Davis was coming off an injury, where he missed nine games, and the optics of a trade request ten days ago, the New Orleans Pelicans were all set to handle AD with kids gloves moving forward.

Before yesterday’s game against the Minnesota Timberwolves, Alvin Gentry announced to pregame media that Davis would be held to a much lighter load than his typical 36+ minutes per game average. Thus, many expected the New Orleans Pelicans to hold Davis out in tonight’s contest against the Memphis Grizzlies after appearing in 25 minutes less than 24 hours ago.

So, of course, Davis is going to play tonight!

Are we all ready to hold our breaths collectively, say a prayer to Jobu and prepare ourselves however else best we can???
