Game 28: Lonzo Ball re-enters starting lineup in place of JJ Redick, Alvin Gentry downplays Jrue Holiday trade rumors

New, comments

Last home game before Christmas, can the Pelicans give the fans an early present in the form of a win?!

NBA: New Orleans Pelicans at Dallas Mavericks Jerome Miron-USA TODAY Sports

The New Orleans Pelicans will be without JJ Redick (sore right groin) for tonight’s matchup against the Brooklyn Nets. Lonzo Ball, who has started 12 games for Alvin Gentry’s squad, will take his place alongside Jrue Holiday, Brandon Ingram, Kenrich Williams and Derrick Favors on the court at tip-off.

Speaking of Holiday, he has suddenly found himself in trade rumors, courtesy of a tweet earlier in the day by Marc Stein. However, Alvin Gentry downplayed that notion to pregame media.

With the Pelicans sporting a 6-21 record, we should have always expected to hear most, if not all, of the team’s veterans find their names churning in the rumor mill. And honestly, that should include Holiday, who was once considered untouchable. For more of my thoughts on this, please give this article a read!

Geaux Pels!
