The New Orleans Pelicans are going up against the Los Angeles Lakers without several key players in Lonzo Ball (stomach virus) and Derrick Favors (personal reasons); on the other hand, Josh Hart is a go.
This means that the ball-handling responsibilities will once again rest largely on the shoulders of Jrue Holiday and the team will be without their best big defender in trying to slow down Anthony Davis. Lets see what Kenrich Williams and Jaxson Hayes can do, but prayers are most welcome!
As for the most exciting matchup on the night, Brandon Ingram and LeBron James should spend a good amount of time defending one another. Can the Pelicans newest budding star give The King a run for his money? He’s likely going to need to have his patented 25-30 point game just to give the Pelicans a chance to emerge with the victory.
About an hour and a half before tip-off, we received word that the Pelicans were not going to play a tribute video for the Davis’ first return to New Orleans since July’s trade.
Expect Pelicans to look forward to their future and tonight as a normal Lakers game — not delve in the past with videos. In sitdown with Anthony Davis, wide-ranging topics included emotions of return game and whether he’ll have in-game tribute. pic.twitter.com/Wjbw7RONLu
