Game 16: Jrue Holiday and JJ Redick look to keep rolling with Rudy Gobert out for Jazz as Pelicans go for fourth straight win

New, comments

Expect Donovan Mitchell and Mike Conley to still pose a stiff challenge.

NBA: New Orleans Pelicans at Phoenix Suns Mark J. Rebilas-USA TODAY Sports

The New Orleans Pelicans have been rolling of late and will go for their fourth consecutive win tonight, but it won’t come easy. The Utah Jazz have lost just once in eight tries at home on the season; however, there is a silver lining — Rudy Gobert was ruled out moments ago with a sprained left ankle.

Gobert’s averages of 17.0 points, 15.7 rebounds and 3.7 blocks over the previous six games jump off the page, and the rest of the Jazz will be hard pressed to replace even half of that production behind him.

On behalf of New Orleans, Josh Hart and Jahlil Okafor remain out of action, joining Derrick Favors, Zion Williamson and Darius Miller on the sidelines.

We know what to expect out of Brandon Ingram — that was fun to write; thus, I’ll be watching the starting backcourts tonight. Jrue Holiday and JJ Redick have been on a roll of late, but JJ is going to get tested defensively in needing to matchup with one of Mike Conley, Donovan Mitchell or Bojan Bogdanovic. If the Pelicans fall behind early, Gentry could give Lonzo Ball a quick look alongside Holiday.
