The Pelicans are tipping off against the Thunder in Oklahoma City at 4 p.m. Central in what’ll be the first early game of the season for New Orleans. Both teams have posted just one win against four losses.
The starting centers for both squads will not play, as Derrick Favors is listed as out for the Pelicans while the Thunder will be without Steven Adams.
Although New Orleans has won four of the last seven matchups against OKC, recent trends matter incredibly little as both teams have seen their rosters transform entirely. Anthony Davis, Russell Westbrook and Paul George have moved on and both franchises have reloaded with a number of players who were in Los Angeles last season: Lonzo Ball, Josh Hart, Brandon Ingram, Shai Gilgeous-Alexander and Danilo Gallinari. Not that long ago, JJ Redick and Chris Paul were teammates on the Clippers too.
