Game 45: New Orleans Pelicans battling historical precedent as well as hot shooters in Golden State Warriors matchup

Can Anthony Davis come up with something special and lead the Pels to a surprise victory?

The New Orleans Pelicans, winners of six of their last nine games, have the stiffest of tests tonight. Not only have Klay Thompson, Stephen Curry and Kevin Durant been shooting lights out from the perimeter over the past ten games, New Orleans has had one hell of a time beating the Golden State Warriors since the Anthony Davis era began.

Counting both the regular season and the playoffs, the New Orleans franchise has managed to post only three wins against the team from the Bay since the 2012-13 season. That’s a 3-29 record overall against the Warriors, and just one lone victory inside the Oracle out of 17 attempts.

So, break out the voodoo dolls, mutter a hex under your breath, something, anything to give the Pelicans a bit of a helping hand. Then, when GSW’s fire-breathing dragons combine to make ten or less three-pointers on the night — the Warriors are 4-10 on the season when knocking down 10 or less triples in a game, you can tell your friends it was all your doing.
