The Bird Writes Podcast Ep. 16: Jahlil Okafor and plugging the hole at small forward for the New Orleans Pelicans

Plus time for a quick offseason update as the 2018-19 NBA schedule was recently released!

NBA: Philadelphia 76ers at Indiana Pacers Trevor Ruszkowski-USA TODAY Sports

Travis and I kick off this week’s podcast by talking about the toughest stretches in the schedule, national television games, how the Pelicans might fare in a late-season playoff push and what the Pelicans’ ceiling and floor could be.

We next discuss the signing of Jahlil Okafor and where he stands in the training camp competition to come at center. The 22-year-old, No. 3 pick of 2015 still has time to change his narrative, but will he be able to do it in New Orleans? He’s certainly off to a jaw-dropping start.

Lastly, we try to solve the wing problem — giving our two cents on which camp body might make the roster and what the true answer at SF should be moving forward. Will E’Twaun Moore remain at the three? Can Solomon Hill surprise us? How about a Mirotic-Randle-AD trio?

Just a quick offseason update for you guys until we record next time. Don’t forget to like, rate and share the podcast. Subscribe to us on iTunes and enjoy!
