According to Shams Charania of Yahoo Sports, the New Orleans Pelicans are expected to sign guard Walter Lemon Jr. out of the G League.

The 25 year-old has yet to register a single minute in the NBA, as his professional career has included stops overseas in Hungary, Germany and Turkey and multiple stays with the Fort Wayne Mad Ants of the G League. After a long four-year career at Bradley University, though, his numbers have never sparkled like they have during this season in the G League. Through 36 games, Lemon is averaging 22.7 points, 4.6 rebounds, 5.9 assists and 2.1 steals. He was awarded the G League player of the month for November and is currently on his hottest streak yet, coming off a career-best 40-point performance just 10 days ago against the Maine Red Claws.

As you can see, Lemon is a 6’-3” lefty who has a penchant for aggressively attacking the rim off the dribble. Although he does knock down a few three-pointers in the video above, shooting from range is not a strength. He is averaging just 31.4% from deep on the season.

With his addition, the New Orleans Pelicans roster currently stands at 15 players. Emeka Okafor still has two games remaining on his second 10-day contract.
