According to Alvin Gentry a few minutes ago, Nikola Mirotic will play tonight, but he will come off the bench behind Julius Randle and Anthony Davis. Considering that the New Orleans Pelicans put together one of their most complete performances of the season a few days ago against the Dallas Mavericks, this decision makes a lot of sense.
Thus, for the first time this season, both E’Twaun Moore and Mirotic will join the reserves together. This move should immensely help the shooting efficiency of a bench unit that oftentimes was completely invisible outside of Randle’s production. One also has to believe that if one or both of these players are contributing nicely, Gentry will decide to close with them in the lineup if the Pelicans find themselves in a close contest.

In addition, be sure to give the Pelicans-Grizzlies Outsider’s Perspective a read as well as why it makes sense to keep Randle in the starting lineup for the time being.
Let’s geaux, Pels!
