The news surrounding the New Orleans Pelicans just seems to get worse and worse. After having lost five of six games and now sporting a 2-10 record on the road, it was announced a short while ago that the team would be without E’Twaun Moore in today’s matchup against the Hornets in Charlotte.
This certainly puts more pressure on the rest of the gang as Alvin Gentry is already without guard Elfrid Payton. Although Frank Jackson (sprained right ankle) will be available, one has to assume that at least one of Solomon Hill, Darius Miller, Ian Clark or Wesley Johnson need to step up. But who is going to be that guy(s)?!?
If E'Twaun Moore can't play in today's contest between Pelicans-Hornets, here's a list of Alvin Gentry's options. (stats from the last 10 games.)
— Oleh Kosel (@OlehKosel) December 2, 2018
Darius Miller: 4.7 PPG / 35.3 FG%
Wesley Johnson: 3.9 PPG / 39.5 FG%
Ian Clark: 2.2 PPG / 22.2 FG%
Solomon Hill: 2.0 PPG / 60.0 FG%
It seems like a tossup, but Wesley Johnson is expected to draw the start in place of Moore. If he doesn’t perform up to par though, expect Gentry to cycle through at that position until he finds someone with a pulse.
