New Orleans Pelicans inconsistency is not some grand mystery

Pelicans writer Jim Eichenhofer joins us to discuss the recent trials and tribulations for Episode 21.

We sat down with team writer Jim Eichenhofer this week to discuss the ups and downs New Orleans has experienced to this juncture of the 2018-19 NBA season.

The Pelicans have been answering each win with a loss recently. What does it mean? Why can’t the team gather together some consistency? Is it because of a flawed roster, or maybe poorly-timed injuries? Or is the Western Conference just that tough?

New Orleans holds a 15-15 record through the first 30 games. Can this team gain some momentum and, perhaps, expect some of the west’s more surprising teams (Dallas, Sacramento, Memphis) to slip a little bit?

Which role players should be expected to play better and help take some of the responsibility off of Anthony Davis, Jrue Holiday, Julius Randle and Nikola Mirotic?

And, of course, the guys all discuss a recent video essay by ESPN’s Rachel Nichols on the future of the Pelicans and Anthony Davis. Does he really need more help? How good is this team’s talent? We go all in.
