Two teams headed in very different directions will meet tonight in Oklahoma City. The Pelicans, losers of five straight, haven’t won a game since October 26th; the Thunder are winners of four straight and Russell Westbrook was just awarded Western Conference Player of the Week.

Of course, injuries have hampered the effort, but Anthony Davis and Darius Miller were in the rotation a few nights ago and New Orleans still lost by double figures to the San Antonio Spurs. The execution was subpar as evidenced by one of the slowest teams in the league still garnering 18 points off of Pelican turnovers. Alvin Gentry’s squad simply needs to play better — Missing nearly half of your free throw attempts is not winning basketball!
