New Orleans Pelicans look to notch first preseason win against New York Knicks

Expect the starters and other core guys to play well into the second half.

NBA: New Orleans Pelicans at New York Knicks Adam Hunger-USA TODAY Sports

Ready for some Friday night preseason basketball? Then you’re in luck!

The New Orleans Pelicans (0-2) are in New York and will tip-off against the Knicks (2-0) at 6:30 p.m. Central. Viewers living within a 75-mile radius of the Smoothie King Center should be able to watch the game on the Pelicans app or by visiting Pelicans.com and clicking on the appropriate link — good luck because this route didn’t work for me despite living less than four miles from SKC.

Per the latest injury report update, Jahlil Okafor (Ankle), Alexis Ajinca (Quad) and Julius Randle (Back) are out, but according to Daniel Sallerson, Nikola Mirotic is a go. Also, Darius Miller should play as he’s not listed on the injury report.

For more details on today’s matchup, please check out our preview; however, I would also like to add this fresh tidbit. You don’t think players don’t stay abreast of what transpires at their alma maters after they leave for the NBA? Well check out these comments by Anthony Davis and Julius Randle during shootaround, where they both spoke highly of Kenny Knox.

Surrounding a star player(s) on a team with known quantities is probably a good thing. Oh wait, that’s right, New Orleans is the home of Kentucky South!

Geaux Pels!!!
