To close out the month of May, we can add Jrue Holiday to the list of NBA players getting back to work in preparation for next season.
Last week I noted that Anthony Davis, Cheick Diallo and E’Twaun Moore had either made references to begin ramping up their individual workouts or were already spotted putting in diligent work at various gyms.
However, what makes this Holiday news a little more interesting is the fact that he’s been caught putting in the hours at the Pelicans practice facility out in Metairie.

Loading the body with various lines of stress proves to fortify the tissues to handle awkward positions with mass and momentum. Did you happen to catch Jrue was dressed in all New Orleans Pelicans gear head to toe in the video above? Yes, it probably means very little, but it’s refreshing to see nonetheless considering all of the recent speculation about whether he’ll stay or leave during the upcoming free agency period.
As Kevin mentioned, Holiday should be viewed in a far different light than Eric Gordon or Ryan Anderson, two players who left as unrestricted free agents one year ago. Both were not indispensable to the team’s new defensive identity as Holiday. Moreover, due to salary cap restraints and a limited free agent pool, finding a replacement for Holiday would be problematic at best for Dell Demps.
