During the Pelicans-Spurs pre-game media, New Orleans announced Jarrett Jack has suffered a torn meniscus in his right knee and will be out for the next 4-6 weeks.
Having recently signed a 10-day contract, this will in all likelihood effectively end Jack’s time with the Pelicans. Although we should expect the team to soon replace him with another free agent, it’s disheartening news for a well-liked veteran who worked hard to return to the NBA. It was his second go around in New Orleans.
Just over one year ago, Jack had torn the ACL in his right knee and described the pain as the worst in his life.
Jack appeared in just two games and played a total of 33 minutes. He scored six points and handed out five assists.
Earlier in the day, one had the sense some ominous news was impending because Jack had tweeted out a rather cryptic message.
Would say frustrated but that word doesn't even come close to doing my mood justice
