Kurt Helin, of Pro Basketball Talk and NBC Sports, joined me to talk several of the most important storylines in today's NBA.

We started with the polarizing relationship brewing between former-Hornet Baron Davis and Laura Dern. How did they meet, and what are some other NBA relationships would you like to see blossom? Maybe Joel Embiid and ... ?

Then, taking a more serious turn, we dive into the Western Conference to discuss the validity of the Minnesota Timberwolves and the Oklahoma City Thunder. Do the Clippers still have time to bounce back into the playoffs with the return of Milos Teodosic and Blake Griffin? What tiers do you place contenders like the Golden State Warriors, Houston Rockets, San Antonio Spurs into as well as the rest of the NBA.

Kurt continues with comments regarding Kyrie Irving's polarizing summer, as well as his take on superstars gaining more and more power over franchises.

Then we experiment with a little All-Star game fun. How do five guards vs. five big men sound?

Finally, we finish things off with the New Orleans Pelicans, focusing some attention on the remarkable season being shared by Anthony Davis and DeMarcus Cousins and gauging the duo’s future.
