The Bird Calls Podcast Ep. 52: Importance of getting Jrue Holiday going and finding rest for Davis & Cousins

New, comments

Recapping the week and looking ahead to the Indiana Pacers matchup.

NBA: New Orleans Pelicans at Chicago Bulls Patrick Gorski-USA TODAY Sports

The New Orleans Pelicans sit at 5-5 after splitting the week's matchups against the Magic, Timberwolves, Mavericks and Bulls. With the gas likely near empty for Anthony Davis, DeMarcus Cousins and Jrue Holiday, the Pelicans are in the midst of recharging their batteries for several days before heading to Indiana to face the 5-4 Pacers on Tuesday.

Listen to Kevin Barrios, Preston Ellis and I assess the previous week's performances as well as answer some questions in mailbag fashion. Some particular topics of interest include: getting Holiday on track, figuring out a way to get Cousins/Davis more rest and contemplating the use of more three-guard lineups until Dante Cunningham finds his groove.

In part two, we welcome Tom Lewis of IndyCornrows.com to preview the upcoming matchup with the Pacers. Indiana’s start in the Eastern Conference has surprised many and the offseason arrivals of Victor Oladipo and Domantas Sabonis have helped the cause tremendously.
