Our own Trevor Ritchie, @ritchieTMR on Twitter, joined myself, @TraBeTa, to talk about the Pelicans’ 128-120 home loss to the Golden State Warriors. New Orleans fell to 0-2 on the season, but the team’s performance was a much more positive one than the season opener against the Grizzlies.
First, we must mention the fact that the Pels have lost to the Warriors in 18 of their last 19 matchups. Think about that.
Trevor and I talk Anthony Davis and DeMarcus Cousins, who both had incredible nights. AD dropped a line of 35 points, 17 rebounds, five assists, two steals and three triples while Boogie had 35 points, 14 rebounds, five assists, four steals and three triples.
University of Kentucky brotherhood is for real!
On the flip side, damn, Kevin Durant was a beast. He did a lot of great things, but nothing was as spectacular as his shot-blocking! He stuffed multiple Tony Allen layup attempts WHILE ONE-SHOED and Allen was never heard from again. KD also blocked Jrue Holiday on a dunk attempt and by then, even with the score in the Pels favor, we all knew what was coming after 48 minutes.

The Big Picture Boys also talk about the bench guard combo of Ian Clark and Jordan Crawford, who both came in and made shots, especially early, to kickstart the Pels to a 21-6 lead in the first quarter. The lead would be totally gone early in the third quarter.
