The New Orleans Pelicans will bring in the much-maligned Lance Stephenson in for a workout.
Free agent Lance Stephenson will work out for the Pelicans, league source says.

Stephenson, a 6’5’’ playmaking wingman, averaged 14.2 points, 4.4 rebounds and 2.8 assists for the Memphis Grizzlies following a trade from the Los Angeles Clippers at the deadline for Jeff Green last season. Lance immediately stepped into a sizable role for former head coach Dave Joerger as his team was also significantly ravaged by injury.
As it was mentioned during the breaking Shawn Dawson news, the Pelicans currently have 15 guaranteed players under contract. In order to keep any additional players beyond the preseason schedule, Dell Demps would need to make space on the roster.
Early yesterday morning, The Bird Writes received information that the team was interested in having a look at both Ty Lawson and Stephenson. Shortly thereafter, Adrian Wojnarowski confirmed Lawson had been on the Pelicans radar prior to signing a 1-year deal with the Sacramento Kings.
