2016 NBA Draft: Checking in on mock drafts three weeks before the draft

Two weeks have passed since we last looked at the various mock drafts floating about the internet. Workouts of lesser prospects are in full swing while players projected to go in the lottery have begun the customary circuit against chairs and even NBA players in tightly controlled (by their agents) performances that only slightly resemble basketball. The New Orleans Pelicans are doing their very best to keep their workouts secret thus far, but rest assured they are doing their due diligence. (Will it pan out into selecting a good prospect? Another question entirely.)

Some form of slim consensus is beginning to form around the Pelicans as Kris Dunn is a popular pick. Steve Kyler is an outlier in my mind, his mock draft varies significantly from the other five we have here. Good news for the Pelicans that Dragan Bender is always selected before New Orleans is on the clock, meaning at least one (and often two) of Jamal Murray, Kris Dunn, and Buddy Hield would be available.

Trading down remains my preferred action but given the history of Dell Demps and Mickey Loomis that seems far fetched, sadly. Kris Dunn, Buddy Hield, or Jamal Murray (least likely in my opinion) will look great in a Pelicans uniform.
