Pelicans use medical hardship exception on a 26-year old prospect.

Jennifer Stewart-USA TODAY Sports

After receiving the NBA hardship exception for having four players injured for at least two weeks, the New Orleans Pelicans have seemed to have found a 16th man.

Orlando Johnson, a former No. 36 pick in the 2012 draft out of UC Santa Barbara, has averaged 8 points and 4.5 rebounds this season in two games for the Phoenix Suns this season.

Johnson formally played for the Pacers and Kings, but has spent most of this season in the D-League this season. In 30 games, he put up a line of 15.5 ppg, 1.8 3pm, 5.3 reb and 2.8 ast.

He can also do this.

Welcome Orlando!
