Pelicans vs Warriors game thread: Kevin Durant and Stephen Curry look to light it up in New Orleans

New, comments

Who starts at center? If you've been paying attention to Alvin Gentry at all he's going to play small for philosophical reasons. Regardless of what the numbers tell him.

Kyle Terada-USA TODAY Sports

The New Orleans Pelicans (8-17) are back home to host the Golden State Warriors (21-4) tonight at The Smoothie King Center. Tip-off is at the traditional 7:00 PM time locally and can be seen on Fox Sports New Orleans or heard on 99.5 FM WRNO.

The most interesting question before tip is who might start at center for both teams. Zaza Pachulia is out for the Warriors and Alvin Gentry is probably going to go small in response. Results so far going small against the Warriors? Not good! Omer Asik leads all Pelicans with an impressive +22.0 net rating against the Warriors while small ball specialist Terrence Jones is the worst at -35.8. You can easily guess which one Alvin Gentry is more likely to start.

Last time these teams played Stephen Curry set a new NBA record with 13 made 3-pointers. What do the Warriors have in store for the Crescent City tonight?
