A little over two weeks ago, Zach Lowe mentioned the New Orleans Pelicans were hopeful Jrue Holiday would be able to return sooner rather than later following Lauren’s operation to remove a tumor.
Well, the organization may get their wish.
Following Lauren’s successful surgery, the family and those close to the Holiday’s asked for privacy. In recent days, however, tidbits of information from the inner circle have begun to emerge. First, Jrue posed for a picture with a high school basketball player, Rahki Person, on the campus of the University of North Carolina, where Jrue has been seen working out on occasion during the last several months.
Had a great time today at UNC with my team and @HermBasketball even seen my man Jrue Holiday‼️ pic.twitter.com/DTfTFBa0KZ

Then yesterday Jrue’s personal trainer, Mike Guevara, tweeted out a video of Holiday working diligently on his fitness and conditioning.
His team needs him. We are just making sure the @pelicansnba get the best version of @jrue_holiday11

But, the most welcome news of all has been the fact that Lauren Holiday herself reached out to the public yesterday and was able to convey that she is trending in a positive direction with her rehabilitation.
Currently testing the effect tootsie rolls have on jaw mobility after tumor resection. I think I'm onto something.

Starting the season with a dismal 0-5 record, the Pelicans are in dire need to turn their season outlook around quickly. Although the team, including Anthony Davis, continue to support his time away, the chances appear to be growing that help in the form of the 2013 All-Star point guard, with a blessed new child and an incredibly strong wife on the mend, may arrive sooner rather than later.
