Pelicans vs Warriors Game Thread: Curry, Durant and crew look to atone for opening night

Game #2 of the 2016-17 NBA regular season

NBA: San Antonio Spurs at Golden State Warriors Kyle Terada-USA TODAY Sports

As David made mention in the game preview, the Warriors were embarrassed by the San Antonio Spurs in front of their home crowd so there is little doubt New Orleans is going to get Golden State’s best punch. The question is, how will the team react?

The hope is that every individual on the roster is prepared to take this personnel challenge head-on: hustling on every play, reacting smartly, and avoiding costly mistakes. It also wouldn’t hurt that everyone not named Anthony Davis finds the mark more times than not with their shot attempts.

If not and the blowout is on early, expect an overwhelming around the negativity. Not so much because of an L in the loss column but rather an 0-2 start in the standings. With the Spurs looming less than 24 hours away, a losing streak to start the season will serve as too great of a reminder of last year’s disaster.
