As expected, today's big announcement by the New Orleans Pelicans organization was to unveil their new Mardi Gras uniforms. Anthony Davis, Jrue Holiday, Ryan Anderson and Quincy Pondexter all modeled the newest items to their on-the-court wardrobe.

The Pelicans haven't worn a special uniform celebrating Mardi Gras since the 2012-13 season, the final year of the New Orleans Hornets moniker.
The best part of the proceedings, though, may have not been the actually uniforms, but rather some quotes that followed. First, when Davis stated he's excited and is looking forward to his next six years in New Orleans, Q-Pon quipped, "Six? You better make sure we're here too."
Later, after it was announced Adidas would donate $25,000 to both the Rex and Zulu Krewes, the representative from Rex referred to the new uniforms as costumes. Yeah, lol.
Towards the end of the broadcast, Tom Benson said a few words, and outside of stumbling over the pronunciation of 'Adidas' (sounded like Abitas), he appeared quite coherent and competent. I mean what New Orleanian isn't thinking about their next drink?
For those asking, Mardi Gras uniforms will be available for sale soon! We'll keep you up-to-date with details.

For those curious, the Mardi Gras uniforms are slated to make six appearances during the regular season.
#Pelicans will wear jerseys 6 times. 3 home games and 3 away games. All during Mardi Gras season.
