Anthony Davis looks enormous at Team USA camp, sporting new ink

AD continues to pack on muscle and he might have a new addition as well.

Derick E. Hingle-USA TODAY Sports

Team USA began preparations for the 2016 Olympics in Rio de Janero on Monday. The mini camp, described as a "celebration of all we have accomplished USA basketball" by managing director Jerry Colangelo, will culminate with an intrasquad scrimmage on Thursday, August 13th which will tip off at 9:30 central. Attendance at the camp is mandatory in order to be selected for the 2016 team, although participation is not.

Anthony Davis, winner of gold medals with the 2012 Olympic team and 2014 FIBA World Cup team, figures to be prominently featured on the 2016 Rio squad. Remember that as a fresh faced rookie without a single minute in the NBA Davis largely watched as the 12th man on that 2012 team. Oh how things can change in four short years.

No clearer evidence can be found than AD's burgeoning physique. Davis weighed just 222 pounds at the NBA Combine in May of 2012. As of August 2014 he was up to 242 pounds according to Dell Demps. Judging by this picture posted on Monday with Paul George, DeMar DeRozan, James Harden, Rudy Gay, and Mike Conley AD is not done packing on muscle to his frame.

Beyond his sheer size it is also notable that Davis appears, on his right bicep just below his shirt sleeve, to be sporting a little ink. If that is indeed a new tattoo is would be AD's first visible tattoo since arriving in the NBA. You can see in the header image that while AD wore a protective shirt after suffering multiple shoulder injuries during the season he was tattoo free. Compare the above picture to AD as a rookie.

Anthony Davis is a completely different man now. Good luck NBA.
