The roster features a few familiar names: Jarvis Varnado, Jay Hook, Seth Curry, and Larry Drew II.

Varnado played 24 games with the 76ers and Heat in 2013-2014, and also featured in 13 games for the Celtics and Heat the year before. As a pro, he averaged 2.9 points, .8 blocks and 1.8 rebounds in 10.7 minutes. He was the 41st overall selection by Miami in 2010, after leaving Mississippi State as the school's all-time leader in blocks, with 564.

Jay Hook was a four-year Tulane player from Waco, Texas. His senior year, he averaged 11.2 points and 5.1 blocks for the Green Wave.

Seth Curry is the younger brother of recent NBA champion and MVP Stephen Curry. Last year, he was placed on the All-NBADL First Team and averaged 23.2 points, 4.2 assists and 3.9 rebounds. Curry also had a brief stint with the Suns in the pros, but only played 21 minutes.

Finally, Larry Drew II is the son of NBA legend and coach Larry Drew. After a successful career at UCLA, Drew hit the pros. In 2014-2015, he played in 12 games for the 76ers, starting one, while posting averages of 3.8 points and 3.8 assists. The last year in the D-League, he averaged 11.2 points and 9.6 assists.

The Pelicans will be hoping to find one or two roster players on their Summer League squad. Last year's Summer League team yielded Patric Young and Russ Smith; both received NBA contracts.

The team's first game is July 10 against Milwaukee.
