Kyle Terada-USA TODAY Sports

1. The New Orleans Pelicans fired head coach Monty Williams on Tuesday. Adrian Wojnarowski reported as such just before noon. Wojnarowski wrote that a power struggle between Williams and General Manager Dell Demps was ultimately won by Demps.

2. That led to reports not much later that Joe Dumars, and not GM Dell Demps, was the man making the decisions according to Ken Berger of CBS Sports.

3. Who might the Pelicans be looking at to replace Williams? Tom Thibodeau, current coach of the Chicago Bulls, is on the radar according to "league sources".

4. Better news came Wednesday with the revealing of the Christmas Day uniforms for next season. Might Anthony Davis make his December 25th debut? We hope so!

5. Another Eastern Conference coach has caught the eye of our staff here at The Bird Writes. Quentin took a look at the potential fit of Atlanta lead assistant coach Kenny Atkinson on Thursday.
