The NBA Executive of the Year this season is Bob Meyers of the Golden State Warriors. Building the best team in the league, unsurprisingly, was rewarded by his peers. This award is different from everything else as the voting is kept private and done only by the other executives.
Surprisingly, however, is that New Orleans Pelicans GM Dell Demps finished in tenth with three third place votes. Just one month ago ESPN went about ranking all of the NBA general managers and Demps came in 22nd.
Undoubtedly the run into the playoffs factored into the decision by three different executives to vote for Demps. Turning Austin Rivers, John Salmons, and Russ Smith into Quincy Pondexter, Norris Cole, and a 2015 second round pick has been applauded on this site. A full breakdown of the votes is below.

Demps has a team option for the 2015-16 season. It will be interesting to see if the franchise elects to pick up that option or extend Demps a longer contract.
For a couple successful dives into the dumpster we here at The Bird Writes say thank you Mr. Demps. Thank you for a scrappy team and we hope to have you around for a very long time.
