Pelicans pull the upset by holding off the Warriors

New, comments

A countless number of times tonight the Pelicans had fans thinking: be still my beating heart!

Derick E. Hingle-USA TODAY Sports

The Pelicans played a near perfect 2nd half. Well, nearly perfect was good enough!

After jumping all over an opponent for the second time in as many games in a third quarter, the Pelicans held fast this time around in the final frame.

After a Stephen Curry three-pointer tied the game at 100 with 35 seconds remaining, the Warriors would fail to score for the rest of the game, despite a number of near misses. Fortunately for the Pelicans, making 4 of their final 6 free throw attempts was just enough.

For the game, Anthony Davis' line (29 points, 10 rebounds, 4 blocks, 2 steals and 2 assists) bested Steph's (25 points, 9 assists, 6 rebounds and 5 threes).

Stay tuned for the full recap. I need to drop about 20 degrees before it's safe to touch something electronic again. In the meantime, give all the love you're capable of in the comments section!
