Birdfeed: Jrue Holiday return possible tonight

Plus, the Pelicans are trying to stay loose for the remaining games, but they recently admitted to Monty Williams that they are indeed getting tired.

- It appears the rumors regarding the return of Jrue Holiday (such as a Tyreke Evans prediction) were indeed true, despite the recent smokescreens.

According to spreading speculation, there appears a good chance Holiday will make his long awaited return tonight against the Phoenix Suns.

- At shootaround this morning, the Pelicans held a dunk contest.

It's good to see the guys are staying loose, but you have to wonder if the pressure is reaching into uncomfortable levels. For instance, the team is on pace to shoot their worst FT% of the season over the last ten games compared to any 10 game stretch prior.

- Several newsworthy items were mentioned in today's Black and Blue report by Monty Williams.

  • The team and he had a heart to heart on the flight home from Memphis and some members of the team admitted that they are tired.
  • Ryan Anderson minutes will probably remain inconsistent because the bigs' rotation was performing well during his absence. In addition, a Davis-Anderson combination has been inconsistent defensively.
  • Monty claims Davis isn't being protected anymore and will have to carry the weight of the team and city for the remainder of the season.
  • When Monty Williams first arrived in New Orleans, no one worked out in the gym. Now, the team lives there.
