Scoring 36 points in the paint and adding 3 free throws in the first 24 minutes was a telling sign considering the Pelicans only had a total of 39 points at intermission. Factor in Anthony Davis leaving the game due to injury after a hard fall and the team coming off an emotional win less than 24 hours ago, it wasn't shocking to see New Orleans come out flat in the 2nd half; however, no one likes to see their team go THIS flat.
Oh well, a loss is a loss no matter how poorly a team plays. It's one game in the grand scheme of things, and more importantly, Davis appears to have escaped serious injury.
After nasty fall on R shoulder, Anthony Davis diagnosed w/contusion. Out for rest of game vs #Bulls. X rays negative, nothing broken.

Pelicans All-Star forward Anthony Davis is "just sore" after landing on his shoulder on a tough fall following a dunk tonight, source said.

Tyreke Evans led the way with 15 points on 7 of 12 on the floor. Meanwhile, Ryan Anderson and Eric Gordon were frighteningly cold as they finished 2 of 21 from the floor!!! As a team, the Pelicans didn't even break the 40 FG% barrier. Ouch, indeed.
Oh, I almost forgot, Toney Douglas made his first appearance for New Orleans. Yep, that's about it. 30+ point losses don't deserve any more words. Stay tuned for Quentin's full recap shortly -- I'm sure he won't have all that much more to add.
