The Pelicans eked out a win against the Nets at the SKC center, 102-96. New Orleans jumped out to a quick lead due to some seriously cold shooting by Brooklyn (3-16). However the Nets came back with a vengeance thanks to some strong play by their bench. (As a side note, can anyone tell me why Thaddeus Young and Brook Lopez aren't starters?)
Quincy Pondexter scored a game-high 25 points. Incidentally, that's ALSO a career high for him. Five other Pelicans scored in double figures: Cunningham, Asik, Evans, Ajinca and Cole.
Tyreke Evans also added 11 assists. The Pelicans are now 9-3 when he has 10 or more assists in the game.
That's three straight wins for the Pelicans for only the second time all season. Stay tuned for Zachary's full recap a bit later.
