Last night, the Pelicans lost not one but two players to injury. Two very good players. As David mentioned in the recap, both Ryan Anderson and Anthony Davis went down early and didn't return the game.

The Pelicans went on to win against the Miami Heat, but the long term effects are scary to ponder. Already without Jrue Holiday, the team can ill afford to lose both Davis and Anderson. The Pelicans have a record of 2-8 when both power forwards sit out together, including 0-2 this season.
That's why today's impending news are going to be so important.

If the Pelicans are fortunate, their slim playoff hopes will remain alive. Any extended absence by just one player and the playoffs will most likely be in the rear view mirror.
