New Orleans Pelicans vs Orlando Magic Game Thread

Kim Klement-USA TODAY Sports

During the preseason, the Pelicans fell to the Magic, 110-107. However, both teams treated the matchup as a regular season game as evidenced by the minutes played of the important rotation players.

Although Anthony Davis had a 33-point, 16-rebound effort, he only made 8 of 24 from the field. The next highest scorer, Nate Robinson, is no longer with the Pelicans.

Jrue Holiday had 15 minutes of run, but he will surpass that total Tuesday night. In the the Pelicans last game against the Warriors, he tallied nearly 27 minutes. Will that number decrease or will the game dictate his minutes?

The Magic were led by Nikola Vucevic and his 24 points, 14 rebounds and 4 assists. Tobias Harris chipped in 18 points, but I was impressed by the play of rookie Mario Hezonja. He finished with 19 points, 4 rebounds, 4 threes and 2 assists; however, Scott Skiles has steadily reduced his role through the first three regular season games. Veteran coach showing he has no time for rookie mistakes?

This time around, the Pelicans will have the services of Alexis Ajinca and Luke Babbitt, but it's unclear whether Omer Asik will play. The Magic will have their typical point guard in the rotation, Elfrid Payton. At the time of this writing, the Pelicans are favored by three points.
